A focal point at the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy, the Grenoble urban agglomeration is in an exceptional location in the heart of Rhône-Alpes, one of the most prosperous regions in Europe. Well served by motorways, the city is 1 hour from Lyon, 1½ hours from Geneva, 2½ hours from Turin and 4½ hours from Paris.

Grenoble's location puts the urban agglomeration within easy reach of markets of considerable size :

  • 14 million consumers within a radius of 250 km
  • 43 million within 400 km
  • 180 million within 800 km (the distance a lorry travels in one day).

From Lyon-St-Exupery and Geneva-Cointrin airports there are 130 European and intercontinental routes, with frequent flights to platforms such as Paris, Frankfurt, London and Amsterdam.

Grenoble-Saint-Geoirs and Lyon-Satolas serve all the French domestic airports.

The city is 3 hours from Paris. Other lines are planned: transalpine "TGV", south-east "TGV" and Rhine-Rhône "TGV".
